Embroidery Workshop for PLMGS

Hit a milestone yesterday for Lovealwayscreates: conducted a workshop for 26 girls at a primary school! 💟 So thankful to Paya Lebar Methodist Girls School (PLMGS) for this opportunity to teach a bigger group and without having to invest in the equipment (as the school provided) e.g. visualiser, wireless microphone, tables and chairs,..

The girls were enthusiastic and chatty, and gave it their best -- which is what matters most! Probably the first time most of the girls picked up a sewing needle and thread, and it was special to be the one to introduce them to these basic sewing skills.. ✨ 

Each girl was given an embroidery kit with the necessary tools to start their project. For the 2.5h workshop, they learnt how to embroider four basic stitches to make up a simple floral bouquet pattern on a tote bag.

I hope that they are not discouraged by how their first attempt looked like, as embroidery requires lots of patience and practice.. looking at them brought back memories of my early days of being a self-taught embroidery artist 🙏
